The annual over 60’s party, free for all residents aged 60 or above from Newton, Slaidburn and Dunsop Bridge, will be held on Saturday 13th December 2014 in Newton-in-Bowland Village Hall. Doors open at 12 o clock with lunch being served at 12.30pm.
All eligible residents will receive an invitation, however if you do not please contact Mary Beaittie
Entertainment will be provided by Slaidburn Silver Band.

CHRISTMAS DANCE

The Christmas Dance will be held on Friday 5th December 2014 at Newton Village Hall. Music will be provided by organist John Bowdler
Dancing will commence at approx 7.45pm, with supper served at 9pm.

Friends of Thorneyholme School are holding a New Years Eve party from 7pm on 31st December 2014 in Newton-in-Bowland Village Hall. This is a ticket only function with reserved tables. Ticket price includes hot supper (served at 8pm) and entertainment.

WW1 CENTENERY OAK TREE

The Mayor will be attending Newton Village on Monday 15th September at 10.45am to officially plant a centenery oak tree. If anyone would like to come the tree is to be planted along the riverside by Newton Bridge.

Slaidburn Silver Band will be playing in the garden behind the village hall on Sunday 31st August 2014 commencing 2pm.
Everyone is welcome to bring a picnic and drinks can be purchased from the licensed bar.
Admission is free
It the weather is wet the band will play inside the hall

The B6478 Slaidburn Road, Newton leading to Slaidburn will be closed due to bridge repairs at Hydes Farm from 28th July 2014 to 5th September. There will be no access available.
The diversion route will be via Waddington, West Bradford and Grindleton
