It has been announced that the Bowland Transit bus service is due to cease on Friday 1st April due to the removal of subsidies by Lancashire County Council. There will be a public meeting on Thursday 25th February 2016 at 7pm in Newton Village Hall. This meeting is open to all residents of Newton, Slaidburn, Dunsop Bridge and Whitewell.
Please come along and give you views and ideas on what sort of service is required.

ANNUAL FUNDRAISING MEAL

The Village Hall will be hosting its annual fundraising meal on Saturday 20th February 2016.
Entertainment will be provided by The Backbeats, and the proceeds of this years raffle will be donated to The British Heart Foundation
Tickets cost £22.50 and we are trying to sell to tables of 10 however if you would like to come and cannot fill a table we are able to make up tables with couples or smaller groups.

VILLAGE PARTY

All residents, their friends and families and all supporters of the village hall are invited to a party on Saturday 9th January 2016 at 7.30pm.
There is to be a jacobs join supper, so please bring along something to eat.
We will be having a raffle, so again if you would like to bring along a prize it would be gratefully received.
Entertainment will be provided by DJ Stevey T and there will be a licensed bar.
We ask that all children are accompanied by an adult, and admission is FREE!!
ROAD CLOSURE

Lancashire County Council have announced that Dunsop Road, Whitewell will be closed following a landslide with immediate effect until 28th December 2016.
This is the road beyond The Inn at Whitewell leading towards Middle Lees and Chipping. The diversion route will be over Hall Hill

Our Lady of The Valley
St Huberts Church, Dunsop Bridge will be hosting its annual Bingo and Social evening on Monday 7th December 2015 in Newton Village Hall
Doors Open 7pm with eyes down at 7.45pm
Admission cost £5 to include 1 book of tickets and hotpot supper, additional books cost 20p each.
