DUCK RACE

The annual duck race will be held on Sunday 3rd May at Newton Bridge starting a 2pm.
Refreshments will be served in Newton village hall by the ladies committee after the race where all winners will be announced and prizes handed out.
The first 3 prizes are
1st £100
2nd £50
3rd £25
with numerous other prizes.
Tickets cost £1 per duck and will be available to buy on the day or can be bought beforehand by contacting Sandra Tel 01200 448289 or email sandra@boarsdenfarm.plus.com
DANCE

Newton Village Hall will be holding a dance on Friday 1st May commencing 7.45pm with music being provided by Blackpool Tower organist John Bowdler
The ladies committee will be providing the supper, the licensed bar will be open and there will be a raffle.

UNITED UTILITIES OPEN DAY

United Utilities are inviting everyone to join them on Wednesday 11th March to listen to their proposols to building a new tunnel for the Haweswater Aqueduct which is planned to start in 2023, and will heavily impact both farmers and residents within Newton.
The event will take place in Newton Village Hall between 3pm and 7pm.
Please call in at any time and listen to their ideas and have you say.
BACON BUTTIES,BREWS AND CAKES

Bacon Butties Brews and Cakes will be available in Newton-in-Bowland Village Hall on Sunday 9th February & Sunday 1st March between 8.30am and 1pm. This is a Charity Event being organised by students Mary McBride & William Whitaker, who live in Newton are hosting these two social mornings in the village hall to raise money for their forthcoming Education Research Expedition to Madagascar. In July, as part of their A Level Biology Studies they will go with the Conservation Research Team from Operation Wallacea and CRGS to monitor Lemur’s in the wild and dive the Marine environment to gather data in the Indian Ocean.
Our future relies on the work of our young scientists and we hope you can help support them by joining us in the village hall.
TEA DANCE

Blackpool Tower organist John Bowdler will provide the music for tea dances to be held in Newton Village Hall on Wednesday 5th February and Wednesday 25th March.
The ladies committee will provide refreshments, there will be a raffle and the licensed bar will be open. Tickets cost £8 per person. so if you fancy coming for a dance, a chat or just to sit and listen to the music please call Marjorie on Tel 01200 446643 and reserve a ticket.

Cow Ark Road, Newton is closed for emergency repairs close to Storth Farm.
The road is to be closed until Tuesday 10th December unless works finish earlier. There will be no access until this time.
