December events

Firstly, can we say a massive thank you to everyone that helped, donated or supported our bacon butty mornings where we raised funds for the Hodder Valley Show.  I am delighted to say that we raised £1133.34 and this has now been passed to them. Lets hope next year is more successful for them.

We also raised a total of  £105 following refreshments on Remembrance Sunday. Thank you to everyone that donated, this has been passed to the Royal British Legion.

Now for our December events, I hope some of you will be interested and be able to join us.

Friday 5^th December commencing 7pm we will be holding our social evening, please come along for a drink and free mince pie.

Please note our social evening in January will not take place but we look forward to seeing you all on February 6^th for our next one which will include a quiz

Saturday 13^th December we will be hosting the over 60s party.  If you haven’t replied yet and wish to come please let Mary Beattie know by 1^st December. We have a 3 course meal at 12.30pm and entertainment by Slaidburn Silver Band. If you have a neighbour within Newton, Slaidburn or Dunsop Bridge that is eligible and has not received an invite please pass the details on to them and ask them to contact Mary (Tel 446086)

Tuesday 23^rd December 7pm  Carol singing around the village Christmas tree, hopefully it will be a dry evening, if not we will move things to the village hall. After the singing we will be serving a free mince pie and mulled wine so please join us.

Bingo & Social Night with Christmas Raffle Draw

Join us for a fun-filled evening at Newton Village Hall on Monday 8th December, where we’ll be hosting our Bingo & Social Night alongside the much-anticipated Christmas Raffle Draw in support of St Hubert’s, Our Lady of the Valley Parish. Doors open at 6:45pm with ‘eyes down’ at 7:30pm. Bar will be open.  £12 Entry includes SIX Bingo Books for all 10 games, and hot supper (lasagna or meat and potato pie) or £11 for ONE bingo book.  No need to pre-book tickets.  Come along for a great night of entertainment, prizes, and community spirit – all are very welcome!

Donations of prizes for the evening would be very much appreciated.  There is a list at the back of the church.  Please hand your prizes to Julie Bennett or Janet Wells before 6th December or drop them off with Audrey Spencer at Valley Living, Market Square, Clitheroe before this date!
