This Friday 1st May we have our social evening. The doors open with free admission at 7pm, we are serving a pie and pea supper at 7.30pm at a cost of £5, followed by a mini quiz at 8pm.
At approximately 9pm we will be having a slideshow to mark 50 years of Newton Village Hall as it stands today. To those of you that can remember the old hall it will be well worth a look, so please come along
On Monday 4th May at 2pm we are holding our annual duck race, can’t believe we are here already.
The ducks will go into the river at Newton Bridge by kind permission of United Utilities and Bill and Susan Pinder, so thanks have to go to them. Refreshments will be served following the race in the village hall where all the winners will be announced. If you haven’t got your ducks bought, they are available at Slaidburn Central Stores, JD4hair, from any committee member, contact me tel 448289 or just reply to this email we’ve got some lovely prizes this year so please don’t miss out. If there are any keen bakers out there we would be grateful for any cakes for the refreshments or indeed prizes for the race. Anything that can be donated would be gratefully received.
Finally on Sunday 17th May its our bacon butty morning. We serve from 9.30am – 1pm. So please come along have a sandwich along with a good brew and a slice of homemade cake.
I hope we have something on that will interest you all and look forward to seeing as many of you as possible
