NEW YEARS EVE

The committee of Newton Village Hall are hosting a New Years Eve Dance, to the music of Blackpool Towers organist John Bowdler.

Doors will open at 7.30pm and dancing will continue until 12.30pm. Tickets cost £15 per person and will include a buffet supper and the licensed bar will be open.

OVER 60S PARTY

The Over 60s Party is to be held on Saturday 10th December at  12.30pm in Newton Village Hall.

All residents aged 60 or above and their partners, living in the parishes of Bowland Forest (Higher Division), Newton-in-Bowland and Slaidburn and Easington are eligible to attend. Everyone should have received an invitation if they are entitled to come, however if you, or you know of someone, that has not received their invitation please contact Mary Beattie Tel 01200 446086.

A hot 3 course meal will be served by volunteers from the 3 parishes along with a complimentary drink and entertainment will be provided by HAPI Butterflies.

WIND IN THE WILLOWS

Newton Village Hall will be hosting a performance by the Library Theatre Touring group of Wind in the Willows on Sunday 16th October 2016.

PARISH COUNCIL

The next meeting for Newton Parish Council will be on Wednesday 21st September 2016 at 7.30pm in Newton Village Hall

DANCE

Newton Village Hall will be hosting a dance on Friday 28th October commencing approx 7.45pm. Music will be provided by organist John Bowdler.

Supper will be provided and tickets cost £10.

TROUGH ROAD CLOSURE

Trough Road, Dunsop Bridge will be closed from Monday 18th September to Friday 30th September between 8am and 5pm for roadworks.

EVENTS 2016

DUCK RACE

This years Duck Race to raise funds for Newton-in-Bowland Village Hall will be held on Bank holiday Monday 2nd May 2016. Ducks cost £1 each and if you would like to buy one, or more, please contact Sandra Tel 01200 448289 or see any member of the village hall committee.

The race is due to start at 2pm at Newton Bridge with results being announced in the village hall immediately after the race, where refreshments will be served.

There are to be numerous prizes with the first 3 being cash prizes

1st prize   £100duck

  2nd prize  £50

  3rd prize   £25

Lets hope for good weather!!!!

BUS SERVICE

Following on from the public meeting held regarding the end of the Bowland Circular Bus Service on 1st April 2016 it was decided that a voluntary car share scheme would be started.  This will include drivers from all villages within the Hodder Valley. A list of drivers is to be put in the notice board and anyone requiring transport is asked to contact one of the volunteers to see if they can help.
